* Some notes about this demo..... *
-------------------------------
This is the "Perpetual Dawn Demo" by Rich Tea and EGB's Smelly Sox. It
features loads of flashing digitised pictures of various people who went
to the Ripped Off Coding party on 3-7 September 1993, and set to a sample
mix of the tune "Perpetual Dawn" by The Orb. The intro contains a "we dish
the dirt" style scrolltext on gossip at the party. This demo is in a Magic
Shadow format. That is- you need the Magic Shadow disk archiver to restore
the file "PDAWN.MSA" back to the original demo format of 50/10/2.
You might have heard of EGB's Smelly Sox from the strange diskmag he's
involved in called "Pure B*ll*cks", from which the following piece of text
is taken. Since I was at the party, I might as well add that the pictures
were digisted by a member of the group Sub Humans in Turkey with a camcorder
and Vidi-ST. A lot more pictures were digitised than the ones that turned up
in this demo- mine is not included here thank God! However, I would like to
point out that I bear a close resemblence to the intelligent looking person
at the keyboard. ;-) I might as well also not that although the gossip in the
scrolltext appears correct, I don't neccessarily support the way it was put-
especially the bit about me snoring!

PERPETUAL DAWN DEMO/Rich Tea & EGB's Smelly Sox
So far (27/3/93), this is the ONLY demo to have come out of the Ripped Off
party last September! If you don't know the story behind it, it came about on
the last day of the party when Rich Tea told me that he had a disk full of
digitised mug shots of the partygoers taken by Sub Humans in Turkey, and really
wanted to make a demo out of it. So, with the help of a sampler, we did the
soundtrack of The Orb's "Perpetual Dawn", and I coded a routine to play the
samples, and flick between the pictures as well as colour cycle through a
really garish selection of colours, so we stuck all that together, added an
intro with a scrolltext that revealed what REALLY went on at the party, and
released it 2 days later! The main idea behind the demo was to take the p***
out of the forthcoming Untouchables "Rainbow" demo, since a couple of preview
screens were show at the party. (This demo still hasn't appeared!)
OK, then I won't review it- you know that something from the makers of this
magazine is bound to be bloody brilliant, so I don't think I'll need to do a
totally biased review!
